Big "W" at the Big "R" for Brachmann
This past Friday, Chad Brachmann put his Mighty Taco Modified into the Power Trip Victory Lane at Ransomville Speedway for the first time this season. Many of the press and fans at the speedway that night used the word "finally" to describe this feat, as Brachmann has been fast all year and seemed to have a series of just misses, leading up to this week.
Brachmann started in the 11th starting spot on the night, one which saw the modifieds add the intriguing sail panels for their event. CB3 started his march to the front as he usually does on a weekly basis, only this time he would use a three wide attempt at the lead on lap 15, became the leader on the following circuit, and took home the win from there. This was his first this season at Ransomville and may very well, not be the last.
Monday night at the Merrittville Speedway, CB3 took his 358 modified over for a pair of races, one which was indeed for the 358 Modifieds and the other intended to be for Big Block Modifieds. Chad would turn in a night that many will not forget as he led 25 of the final 75 laps in the 358 feature event, eventually finishing in the 6th position.
To follow up that performance, he would take time trials with the Big Blocks. Setting the 7th fastest time in the 6 sessions, Chad would add a heat win which saw him win by a straightaway at the checkers with a very fast car. He would start the feature 4th through the re-draw and on lap 7, took the lead. Chad held the lead in this race for 83 consecutive laps until the reigning Mr Dirtcar Champion Matt Sheppard made a move to pass for the lead on lap 91. Brachmann would remain on the bumper of the Dirtcar standout for the remaining 9 laps, but just could not make the pass back, settling for a 2nd place finish while making his presence known on the evening as a whole.
All in all, Brachmann has led 123 of his last 205 feature race laps, securing a win, a runner up spot and a 6th place finish, just out of the top 5 with the best 358 drivers in the Northeast.
Without sponsors like Mighty Taco, Power Trip, finditquick.com, Grelak Mechanical, Honest Abe's Racing Engines and others, these results would not be possible and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and fans for their continued support over the past week and season.
