Summer Heating Up for Brachmann And His Fans

It was another hot week for Chad and the Brachmann Racing team. This past week they took their show on the road as some would say, to visit the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio for their annual Lou Blaney Memorial. 28 Big Block modifieds signed in for this event with many of the local standouts Kevin Bolland, Jerimiah Shingledecker and Brian Swartzlander in attendance as well as NY invaders Jerry Higbie and CB3.

Chad started his heat in the 5th position and in just 3 laps had garnered the second spot. He was looking to the front when good turned bad and a carburetor issue would open CB3's throttle, parking his right front tire in the turn 3 and 4 wall. This left him with a 21st starting spot  for the nights feature. When the green fell on the main event, the front of the pack was where he didn't want to be, as a 6 car pile up ensued and Chad took the low road around to quickly have himself in the 15th spot. Lap by lap, Chad would pick off cars and eventually cracked the top 10 on lap 8. With fellow invader Jerry Higbie right in front of him, the two worked their way through the field, eventually finding themselves in the top 5 with 8 circuits remaining. Green fell again on lap 23, and the leader Rob Kristyak soon saw the duo coming as they sat 5th and 3rd on the field. On the restart, Brachmann moved to the high side to push past Swartzlander on his way to 4th, while Higbie pushed past Shingledecker to sit in the runner up position. Another restart on lap 28 saw a two lap dash to checkers and even though Chad again used the high side of the speedway to gain third from Shingledecker, he would be right on the bumper of Higbie when checkers fell. CB3 would take home a solid 3rd place finish on the evening, and prompting announcers at the Sharon Speedway to state "Who says the Modifieds can't pass here" on the public address system.

Locally, this past friday at the Ransomville Speedway, Chad and friends again welcomed the Dr. Danny Johnson to the field for the second time in 3 weeks and with a full slate of racing on tap, Chad buckled in for what was going to be a slick 30 lap feature. Starting in the 15th position, Chad worked his way through the field and into the top 10 before a caution on lap 18 and into the top 5 on lap 25. He would gain the 4th position from Ryan Susice with just 1 circuit remaining and hold on for a 4th place finish. He was then awarded 3rd place after one of his fellow competitors was light across the scales in post race inspection.

Make sure you keep checking back to see what's up with CB3 and the Brachmann team as you never know just where they may go for another road excursion.
