Chad Brachmann, the driver of the Mighty Taco- Power Trip 358 will be the first to tell you that he enjoys his time off when he can get it, but he also pulls out all the stops when it comes to racing on holiday weekends. Back in May, Chad won his first feature of the year at the New Humberstone Speedway when the Port Colborne oval invited the 358's in for their first time this season. This past weekend was no different.

Humberstone ran the second of their 3 race series for the Modifieds and with a car count of 22, Chad drove himself to a redraw position in his heat race, finishing 4th. He and his daughter Olivia, would choose the 9th starting spot on the grid and when the green flag dropped for the evenings feature, CB3 was up to the 3rd position before lap 10 when a three lap duel ensued with local standouts Larry Lampman Jr and Rob Pietz. Chad would work through both the high and low sides of the speedway, eventually driving under the Lampman machine and to the lead. Immediately after that It became a dash to the checkers, as Chad would maneuver his way through lap traffic and take home the win in the 35 lap main event.

Brachmann racing would like to thank their sponsors and support crew for all their dedication and help which make these nights possible and our car competitive each and every time we enter a speedway, as well as Chris Rynold and Motorsports Images for this photo.

Earlier in the weekend, Ransomville Speedway held their Battle at the Border 75 lap extravaganza. This race was paying $5,000 to win and drew in a few invaders, one of such invaders was the Dr. Danny Johnson, whom has been a local favourite and will soon be a legend in Northeast Dirt Modified Racing. Chad would once again qualify for a redraw through his heat, but this time start in the highest position from the draw, 12th. This night was another that will not soon be forgotten, as Chad drove his way to the front of the field, and on lap 60 would challenge the Dr for the lead. Not to be denied the Dr battled with the local standout and in a race that many would say was one of this years best, Chad would go home with a second place finish, while driving what was arguably was the fastest car on the speedway that night.

Saturday night at the Merrittville Speedway with the rain threatening, the Brachmann team would again start ninth on the field after the nights heats, and take the car home with a 4th place finish. This program was run in just under 2 hours and speaks volumes to the preparation put into this team night in and night out, as minimal time was available to make changes to the car between the heats and the nights feature.

Join us again this Friday at the Ransomville Speedway as Chad looks to add another win to the 2011 season, while keeping you on the edge of your seat!
