Heads Up, Here We Come
Its late on a Friday night and the Brachmann Racing Team has just pulled away from the scales upset after losing a fourth place finish. Their points and winnings stripped after a cracked radiator cap left them almost 15 pounds light at the finish of their feature. Disappointed, isn't nearly the word to describe Chad's feelings after a short conversation the next day. As he spoke, his tone reminded me of times children look like they have lost their best friend, when their life long pet passes away and even then, some have more encouragement then I could hear on the other end of the phone that afternoon.
Folks, that's just a small taste of this years ups and downs for this team, as many obstacles have stood in the way, been put in front of the team, or even just plain bad luck has shown its face sometimes this season. With all that being said, there is just no quit in CB3, nor his team. They continue to fight to find advances on Saturday nights at the Merrittville Speedway, they continue to come up 3 laps short at the Ransomville Speedway when they are chasing down the leader and consistency has shown to be key on Sunday Nights, racing at the Humberstone Speedway. This has left them sitting atop the points leading into this weekend and the final points event at the Port Colborne oval.
"It really hasn't been our year this year" stated Brachmann in conversation, "but we're going to see if we can pull out the playoff season" immediately followed with enthusiasm and Chads' desire to pick and choose events to the close of the year with tracks geared to his driving style and car combinations. "I believe that we have what it takes to compete, we just need to dial it in" left me and I hope many of you reading with the inspiration to cheer and support your favourite drivers every night of every season, because without them, there would be no season.
You see, I have yet to see a single season dominated by a driver that has won every race entered, and in a weekly 28 car field, someone will win, and someone will finish 28th. It's inevitable. So as we wind up this season and possibly travel to your home town, let CB3 know your appreciation for not only the sport, but those who make it possible such as the team, himself and most importantly, his sponsors. Without them, he wouldn't even be there.
